The Cooper County Public Heath Center Board of Trustees held an emergency meeting on Tuesday, December 15, to discuss the need for enhanced office security for clients and employees.

A release from Cooper County Public Health Center Administrator Melanie Hutton says the health center is working with the Cooper County Sherriff’s office. Until further notice, the front door of the facility will always remain locked. Increased security measures will be implemented soon.

Hutton says, “We are asking citizens in need of services to call upon your arrival for your appointment or request for services. Staff will meet you at the front door and grant access to the building. If you do not have a phone, please knock loudly on the front door and staff will speak with you at the front door before access will be granted.”

Office contact information is (660) 882-2626.

COVID-19 testing will still be provided at the rear of the building by appointment only. You should remain in your car until you are contacted by staff.
