A Sedalia woman is facing multiple charges after an incident at a hotel on December 17, 2020.

After receiving information from a confidential informant, a Pettis County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to the Budget Inn at 4710 S. Limit in reference to possible drug trafficking taking place.

According to a probable cause statement, when deputies arrived they noticed the door to the room in question was wide open and a child was close to the doorway. When they approached the room they could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the room. Deputies made contact with 35-year-old Tiffany Ditzfeld and questioned her about the smell of marijuana and if she had a medical card, which she did not.

After securing the room, the deputy observed a glass bong and a baggie of white crystal substance in plain view. After a search warrant was granted, the deputies seized a baggie weighing approximately 2.5 grams of methamphetamine, a debit card in Ditzfeld’s name, 37 packets of Suboxone, another baggie with a small amount of a crystal like substance, baggies and three digital scales.

Ditzfeld’s five-year-old daughter and 13-year-old nephew were also in the room that was rented in her name. The crystal substance and water bong found on the desk were both in reach of either child.

Ditzfeld is charged with a Class C Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana or Synthetic Cannabinoid, two Class D Felonies for Possession of a Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana or Synthetic Cannabinoid, and a Class D Felony for Endangering the Welfare of a Child Involving Drugs in the First Degree. Bond has been set at $75,000 cash or surety.

Ditzfeld’s initial court appearance is pending at Pettis County Circuit Court.
