
Edith Jean “Edie” Utlaut, 82, of Marshall, MO, died Sunday, December 20, 2020 at John Knox Village in Lee’s Summit.
Private family services will be held, and burial will be at Sunset Gardens Cemetery. There will be no visitation, but friends may call from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2020 at the funeral home. Born May 25, 1938 in Houstonia, MO, she was the daughter of the late William T. Fluty and Mary Bess Houchen Fluty. Edie lived in Saline County her entire life and was a 1956 graduate of Marshall High School. On March 1, 1957 she married Marvin E. Utlaut who preceded her in death on May 24, 2015. Edie and Marvin owned and operated Country Carpet and Fabric as well as ServiceMaster in Marshall. She was a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Terry Cobb (Bobby) of Marshall and Tammy Dinsmore (Mark) of Essex, IA; four grandchildren: Jeremy Harlin (Valery) of St. Louis, Shannon Clemens (Tyler) of Marshall, Cody Dinsmore (Tattum Hughes) of Clarinda, IA and Shelby Sperfslage (Quentin) of Riverton, IA; nine great-grandchildren: Alex Wolf, Tanner Clemens, Jaxon Clemens, Noelle Harlin, Addison Harlin, Macklin Clemens, Joanna Sperfslage, Kynlee Hughes and Sophia Sperfslage; as well as other extended family members.
In addition to her parents and husband, Edie was preceded in death by her sister, Sue Bailey.
