During its meeting on Monday, December 21, the Concordia Board of Aldermen approved an ordinance to put a one-half cent sales-tax measure for capital improvements before the city’s voters during a future election.

Unofficial minutes from the meeting say aldermen also gave the city administrator authorization to create an ordinance to do away with the trade license fees for electrical, HVAC and plumbing, but to maintain the $30 inspection fees.

In other news, aldermen approved a request to place a “No Parking” sign at the entrance of 101 South Main Street.

Aldermen also gave the green light to authorize Concordia Bank to concrete the alley behind the bank building as long as it meets several stipulations.

It also was noted that City Hall will be closed December 24, 25 and January 1.
