
A 38-year-old Brookfield man facing multiple felony charges after he led authorities on a high-speed pursuit through multiple counties earlier this year is due in court early next year.
A police report says just before 3 p.m. on February 11, 2020, Matthew Guilford, of Brookfield, was on the run from authorities, after they attempted to pull him over near Laclede. After traveling through Livingston, Carroll and Lafayette Counties, Guilford was stopped and taken into custody in Saline County.
Guilford was wanted for a felony warrant out of Linn County, as well as a Federal Parole Violation warrant.
Guilford is charged with a Class A Felony for Assault in the First Degree or Attempt; a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance; Class E Felonies for Resisting Arrest, Detention or Stop by Fleeing and Resisting Arrest for a Felony; and an Unclassified Felony for Armed Criminal Action.
A Pre-trial Conference is scheduled to be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, with a two-day Jury Trial scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 21, at Linn County Circuit Court.
