As part of her report, Mayor Julie Schwetz gave an update about the Nash Group’s attempt to secure some funding for a project involving the property where old Fitzgibbon Hospital is located on South Brunswick Avenue in Marshall during the council meeting on Monday, December 21.

Former Ward 1 Councilman Ron Ott, who is working with the Nash Group, on the project said part of the problem was with the deficit for the demolition.

The next funding round process begins in the spring of 2021.

The Nash Group has a project planned for tax-credit housing that will include demolition of the old hospital, which has sat unoccupied for the most part since the new Fitzgibbon Hospital opened nearly 30 years ago.
