Only one county in the immediate KMMO listening area gave an update on COVID-19 cases on Christmas eve.

According to health-department officials in Chariton County, the number of newly-diagnosed positive cases- three- equaled the number of previously-positive cases released from public health isolation as recovered. The total positive case count is now 610 since the beginning of the pandemic. With 538 total recoveries and 15 COVID-19-related deaths, there are 57 active cases in the county.

Updates were not available from Saline, Carroll, Cooper, Howard, Lafayette and Pettis Counties.
