Kenneth P. “Kenny” Pittman, age 84, of Slater, died Saturday, December 26, 2020, at The Living Center in Marshall.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 31, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Slater, with Father Mark Smith officiating, where visitation begins at 9:30. Burial will follow at Slater City Cemetery, with his grandsons Josh Pittman, Jeremy Pittman, Eric Ward, Jonathon Ward, Brad Ward and Mitchell Pittman serving as pallbearers.

Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.

Born March 16, 1936 in Marshall, he was the son of the late Herbert and Margaret Sherlock Pittman. On July 21, 1962 in Slater, he married Betty Blum, and she survives of the home.

Also surviving are two sons, Mark Pittman of Slater, and Jeffrey Pittman of Kansas City, Missouri; two daughters, Brenda Ward of Slater, and Gina LeNoir of Fremont, Nebraska; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lucille Hisle of Marshall. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Jansen; a grandson, Kyle Pittman; three brothers; and two sisters.

Mr. Pittman was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Slater. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked as a conductor/brakeman for Illinois Central Gulf Railroad, retiring after twenty years of service.
