First responders and a Boonville resident rescued a woman from a burning structure on the night of Monday, December 28.

A release says personnel from the police and fire departments responded to a structure fire on McRoberts Street. Officers were able to gain entry to the residence and found an unresponsive person inside.

The officers- along with assistance of Brandon Roberts, a neighbor- were able to get her out of the residence and start CPR. She is in stable condition at this time.

The police department says, “We want to commend our officers for their heroic efforts to save her life. We also want to commend Brandon Roberts for putting himself in danger to assist our officers and the female. His quick actions in assisting at the scene helped save a person’s life.”

The department says it will be working on commendations for the officers and Roberts.
