A 29-year-old Kearney man is facing a pornography-related felony charge in Lafayette County.

According to a probable-cause statement, on September 17, 2020, an Odessa High School administrator contacted authorities in reference to Miles Hochard, a former teacher in the district. They said Hochard had been in contact with two of his former students via Snapchat, and the messages were inappropriate in nature.

The two females confirmed the allegations during separate interviews with authorities. Authorities also recovered evidence of sexually-explicit pictures being sent by Hochard.

Court documents say Hochard is charged with a Class E Felony for Attempted Possession of Child Pornography- First Offense and misdemeanors for furnishing or attempt to furnish pornographic material to a minor and sexual misconduct in the first degree- first offense.

Hochard entered a not-guilty plea during his arraignment hearing on December 23.

Hochard posted 10 percent of a $50,000 bond on December 28.

Hochard’s next hearing is scheduled to be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, February 3, at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
