Mother Nature wasn’t kind to west-central Missouri with all of the icy conditions over the New Year’s holiday weekend.

The icy conditions caused numerous power outages and lots of tree damage throughout the area.

Marshall City Administrator David Haugland has announced that any Marshall resident who suffered tree damage such as limbs falling on their property, the city will help with the cleanup.

Haugland says if residents can get the limbs and debris curbside by Monday, January 11, a city crew will pick them up and haul them away.

Haugland said a crew will be working on picking them up the entire week of January 11-15. He said the crew will just start in one area of the city and continue working its way through the city. The limbs will not necessarily be picked up on what is your ordinary yard-waste pickup day, so he says it is important for all residents to have all tree limbs and debris curbside by January 11.
