City crews continue working to remove tree limbs and branches from public property and rights-of-way resulting from this weekend’s storm and high winds to ensure roadways and sidewalks are clear.
The city of Sedalia says to assist residents in cleaning up the balance of tree limbs and branches from their private property, residents may take tree debris and vegetation to the City’s Materials Management Site.
The City’s Materials Management Site located at 27882 Route U is open from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The site is open daily, with the exception of city holidays. The next holiday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, January 18.
The City will be picking up tree limbs and vegetative debris from the rights-of-way and curbs on Mondays between now and January 25, with the exception of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Pickup dates have been scheduled to allow residents to have time to get the materials moved to the areas designated for pickup. Pickup began on Monday, January 4, for residents east of Ohio; and it will happen again on Tuesday, January 19. Residents west of Ohio will have pickups beginning on Monday, January 11, and again on Monday, January 25. City crews will be picking up materials at the curb and along the rights-of-way between the hours of 6 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
If you have questions about the storm debris pickup, feel free to contact the Public Works Department at (660) 827-3000, ext. 1166.
