Six additional COVID-19-related deaths were reported in Lafayette County on Thursday, January 7, since the last update on December 17, 2020.

According to health-department officials, those deaths make the death toll 46 in the county since the beginning of the pandemic. In addition, 256 new positive cases were reported during the same time frame, increasing the county’s total to 1,943. Due to 46 deaths and 1,540 recoveries, there are 357 active cases in the county.

One more death was confirmed in Cooper County since its last update on December 23, 2020. In all, 128 new positive cases were added over the same time period, upping the county’s total to 1,714. With 16 deaths and 1,489 recoveries, there are 209 active cases, including three positive patients hospitalized.

In Pettis County, 76 new positive cases were confirmed, increasing its total to 4,402. Due to 66 deaths and 3,936 recoveries, 400 active cases remain, including 10 positive patients hospitalized.

According to Saline County’s COVID-19 Dashboard, the positive case count grew by 28 on Thursday to 2,378 in the county. With 47 deaths and 2,162 previously positive cases deemed inactive, there are 169 active cases in the county.

Over the last two days, 18 new positive cases were reported, increasing the total to 953 in Howard County. With 876 recoveries and four deaths, there are 73 active cases in the county.

Three new positive cases were added in Chariton County, raising its total to 715. With 16 deaths and 617 recoveries, there are 82 active cases in the county.

An update was not available from Carroll County.
