U.S. Air Force Col. Jeffrey Schreiner, the commander of the 509th Bomb Wing at Whiteman Air Force Base, and Capt. Ryan Magner, 393rd Bomb Squadron, are scheduled to fly a B-2 Spirit over the American Football Conference Divisional playoff game at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 17, at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
A news release says the flyover will be supported by Team Whiteman maintainers launching the stealth bomber and a ground crew of pilots monitoring the flyover from the stadium.
Schreiner, an Independence, Mo., native, says, “Having the opportunity for Team Whiteman to participate in this flyover is a true honor. I grew up just outside of Kansas City, and I have been a lifelong fan of the Kansas City Chiefs.”
The B-2 is Air Force Global Strike Command’s premier stealth asset and one of the world’s most-advanced aircraft. It is operated by the 509th and 131st Bomb Wings at Whiteman Air Force Base in Knob Noster.
