Phillip Randall Hayes, age 60, of Albuquerque, NM and formerly of Marshall, MO, died Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at Presbyterian Health Care Services in Albuquerque.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 20, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Born May 5, 1960 in Lexington, MO, he was the son of the late Kenneth L. Hayes and Dorothy Sullivan Hayes Garrison. Phillip lived in Marshall for many years and was an over the road truck driver. He worked hard his entire life in the trucking industry and was known as “Batman” in the trucking world. His ultimate goal was to be an owner/operator of his own company, which he accomplished in 1993 when he started Gotham Express. After relocating to Albuquerque, he continued to operate his business and was able to work up until the very day he died.

Survivors include one daughter, Nicole Hayes of Albuquerque, NM; one son, Todd Hayes (Meghan) of Columbia, MO; five grandchildren: Camron Martin, Ashton Martin, Tucker Hayes, Brooke Hayes and Natalie Hayes; his fiancé, Drema Bailey of Albuquerque, NM and her daughter, Virginia Bailey; two brothers, Gary Hayes (Phyllis) of Kirbyville and David Hayes (Linda) of Marshall; three sisters: Becky Bledsoe (Ralph) of Independence, Glenda Tolivar (Mike) of Marshall and Deanna Hollingsworth (Steven) of Rural Hall, N.C.; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Jacqueline Davis.
