The Marshall High School speech and debate team has earned significant recognition from the National Speech and Debate Association.

Students earn points and degrees in the Association’s honor society based on competitive and service-related activities, ranging from Degree of Merit with 25 or more points to the Degree of Premier Distinctions with 1,500 or more points. These degrees contribute to a school’s strength points.

The Marshall High School chapter has earned membership in the Association’s  prestigious Societe de 300 by achieving 300 or more strength points last year.

According to a letter sent to the school district, this milestone demonstrates outstanding commitment to teaching students essential life skills-including communication, research, listening, writing and organization.
