Ice storms New Year’s weekend caused numerous power outages throughout the KMMO listening area.

During the meeting of the Slater City Council this week, Mayor Dr. Stephen Allegri and City Administrator Gene Griffith praised all involved for keeping the power on for the most part.

Griffith says the city lost no power from primary lines.

Griffith praised residents for tree trimming.

In other news, Griffith said the four incumbents signed up to run for another term as councilpersons. He said Crystal Wiseman in Ward 1, Brenda Smith in Ward 2, Matt Campbell in Ward 3 and Terry Jordan in Ward 4 were the only residents to file. The Municipal Election is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, April 6.
