
A handful of COVID-19-related deaths were reported in an area county on Wednesday, January 20.
According to health-department officials in Carroll County, five deaths over the past week raise the total to 28 in the county since the beginning of the pandemic. In addition, 14 new positive cases were added, increasing the county’s total to 896. Due to 842 recoveries and 28 deaths, there are 26 active cases in the county.
According to the Saline County COVID-19 Dashboard, one more death was added, raising the county’s total to 50. There also were 30 additional positive cases reported on Wednesday, increasing the county’s total to 2,546. With 2,393 previously-positive cases now deemed inactive and 50 deaths, the active case count dropped by 13 to 103 in the county.
Seven new positive cases were reported in Chariton County on Wednesday, raising the county’s overall total to 771. With 697 recoveries and 17 deaths, there are 57 active cases in the county.
In Pettis County, as of Tuesday, the number of positive cases was 4,609- up from 4,592 on Friday, January 17. With 4,254 recoveries and 68 deaths, there were 287 active cases in the county, including nine positive patients hospitalized.
Updates were not available from Cooper, Howard and Lafayette Counties.
