The jury trial for a 38-year-old Brookfield man accused of multiple felonies after a high-speed pursuit last year has been cancelled until a later date.
On February 11, Matthew Guilford, of Brookfield, was on the run from authorities after they attempted to pull him over near Laclede. The pursuit traveled through Livingston, Carroll and Lafayette Counties, before Guilford was finally stopped and taken into custody in Saline County.
Guilford was wanted for a felony warrant out of Linn County, as well as a Federal Parole Violation warrant.
Guilford is charged with a Class A Felony for Assault in the First Degree or Attempt; a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance; Class E Felonies for Resisting Arrest, Detention or Stop by Fleeing and Resisting Arrest for a Felony; and an Unclassified Felony for Armed Criminal Action.
The Court vacated the trial that was set for January 21 and 22 and has placed this case on the docket for 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2 for trial setting.
