A couple of area counties updated COVID-19 numbers over the weekend.

According to the Saline County COVID-19 Dashboard, as of Sunday, January 24, the total positive case count is now 2,573- up from 2,564 on Thursday, January 21. With 2,424 previously-positive cases now deemed inactive and 50 COVID-19-related deaths, there are 99 active cases- down from 107 on Thursday.

One new positive case of the virus was reported in Chariton County on Sunday, raising the overall total to 783 since the beginning of the pandemic. Due to 716 recoveries and 18 deaths, there are 49 active cases in the county.

Updates were not available from Carroll, Cooper, Howard, Lafayette and Pettis Counties.
