The Marshall High School Speech and Debate squad competed in four tournaments online and virtually during the month of January, with several students finishing in the top 10 at the events.

According to a news release, at the Fair Grove Tournament, Andi Gooden was seventh in prose reading and eighth in storytelling. Katherine Hernandez was 10th in storytelling.

Kollin Huse was 10th in student congress at the Liberty Tournament.

At the St. Joseph Lafayette Tournament, Hernandez was third in storytelling; Gooden fifth in storytelling and ninth in dramatic; and Holly Huston 10th in prose reading.

Katherine Diaz was fifth in storytelling at the Smithville Tournament. Gooden was sixth in storytelling and Connor Grossenburg 10th in Lincoln-Douglas Debate.
