The active COVID-19 case count increased by double digits in Saline County on Tuesday, January 26.

According to the Saline County Health Department’s COVID-19 Dashboard, 18 positive cases were added, increasing the county’s total to 2,611 since the beginning of the pandemic. Due to 52 COVID-19-related deaths and 2,443 previously-active cases now deemed inactive, there are 116 active cases in the county, up from 102 on Monday, January 25.

The total number of positive cases has reached four digits in Howard County. On Monday, seven new cases were confirmed to add to two cases on Friday, January 22, increasing its total to 1,008. Due to 985 recoveries and five deaths, there are 18 active cases in the county.

One new positive case and five recoveries were reported in Chariton County on Tuesday. With 726 recoveries and 18 deaths, 41 of the 785 total positive cases remain active.

Updates were not available from Carroll, Cooper, Lafayette and Pettis Counties.
