A 24-year-old Marshall man has been charged with felonies for allegedly breaking into a residence and assaulting a woman on January 5.

According to a Marshal Police report, officers were dispatched to the 500 block of West Summit Street after a juvenile reported a man was entering a home where he had been banned and was assaulting the juvenile’s mother.

Authorities say the woman was noticeably shaken up. A juvenile witness said Erik Ivan Aguirre entered the residence and started pulling the woman’s hair. Authorities say the victim was bleeding from her mouth from being punched by Aguirre. She did not know how many times she was hit by Aguirre. Her right cheek also was swollen. Aguirre was arrested at the scene.

Court documents say Aguirre is charged with a Class B Felony for Burglary in the First Degree and a Class E Felony for Domestic Assault in the Third Degree. Bond is set at $50,000 cash only.

Aguirre appeared by video in custody and was arraigned on Tuesday, January 26. The defendant waived his right to a release hearing within seven days. The matter is set for preliminary hearing setting and release hearing at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 10, at Saline County Circuit Court.
