A 20-year-old La Monte resident is facing a felony charge after allegedly leading law-enforcement on a high-speed pursuit on multiple roadways on Tuesday, January 26.
According to a Pettis County Deputy’s report, at 6:45 p.m., the deputy attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle did not stop. Less than an hour and a half later, the deputy made contact with the vehicle again in La Monte, and the driver sped away again.
The pursuit continued on several county roads and rural routes. Stop sticks were placed on Route K, and deflated the right front tire on the suspect vehicle. However, the suspect continued until it stopped at the intersection of Routes D and T. The two subjects in the truck were ordered out at gunpoint.
The driver was identified as Angel Martinez.
Martinez is charged with a Class E Felony for Resisting Arrest, Stop or Detention by Fleeing and a misdemeanor for operating a motor vehicle without a valid license. Bond is set at $3,000 cash or surety.
Martinez’s initial hearing is pending at Pettis County Circuit Court.
