
A 36-year-old Columbia man is facing felony charges after a traffic stop by a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper in Cooper County on January 5.
According to the trooper’s report, the vehicle was stopped because it was traveling in excess of 110 miles per hour in the 70 miles-per-hour zone. The trooper says he located approximately three grams of suspected cocaine; approximately 69 grams of suspected marijuana; and a pack of cigarillos. The driver had a revoked or suspended license.
Court documents say Kenneth Javar Blanford is charged with two counts of a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance; a Class E Felony for Driving While Revoked or Suspended; and a drug-related misdemeanor. Bond has not been set yet.
Blanford’s initial hearing is pending at Cooper County Circuit Court.
