
The case has been continued for a Sedalia man facing felony charges in a stabbing incident last year in Pettis County.
On October 8, 2020, officers from the Sedalia Police Department responded to a report of a person being stabbed at the American Inn at 1217 South Limit Avenue. The suspect had fled the scene before officers arrived.
On October 13, detectives interviewed the victim and were provided with more information. Through further investigation, the suspect was identified as 57-year-old Francisco “Frank” Fernandez, of Sedalia.
Court documents say Fernandez has been charged with a Class A Felony for Assault in the First Degree- Serious Physical Injury or Special Victim; and an Unclassified Felony for Armed Criminal Action. Fernandez posted $25,000 surety bond on December 29, 2020.
Fernandez entered a plea of not guilty and waived his formal arraignment on December 7. A Hearing in this case set for February 1 has been continued and is now set for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 15 at Pettis County Circuit Court.
