One more COVID-19-related death was reported in an area county over the weekend.

According to the Saline County COVID-19 Dashboard, the death raises the county’s total to 53 since the beginning of the pandemic. Since its last update on Tuesday, January 26, the total positive case count increased by 64 from 2,611 to 2,675. With 2,505 previously-positive cases now deemed inactive and 53 deaths, there are 117 active cases in the county, an increase of 15 from January 26.

One new positive case of COVID-19 was reported in Chariton County on Sunday, January 31. This makes a total of 788 total positive cases since the beginning of the pandemic. With 742 of them being released from public health isolation and 18 COVID-19 related deaths, there are 28 active cases in the county.

Updates were not available from Carroll, Cooper, Howard, Lafayette and Pettis County.
