The Higginsville Board of Aldermen met on Monday, February 1, and discussed the 2020 audit report.

According to City Administrator Jeanette Dobson, the city received a clean report with no deficiencies noted.

Dobson also said the city received a perfect score in the annual MIRMA loss-prevention evaluation. The reports sent to MIRMA included all property schedules; heavy equipment schedules and supplemental applications for utilities, aviation, correctional facilities and cyber liability. These annual detailed reports provide information to MIRMA for the city’s liability insurance coverage.

In addition, it was pointed out the three incumbents- Scott Rhoad in the First Ward, Bean Linebach in the Second Ward and Stanton Thompson in the Third Ward were the only residents to file to run for board positions this election cycle.

The Municipal Election is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, April 6.

Also, the next meeting has been pushed back to Tuesday, February 16, due to Monday, February 15 being Presidents’ Day.
