Mark Dankenbring, 64, of Houstonia, MO, died Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 8, 2021, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Concordia, with Rev. Jim Downing officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. SATURDAY, February 6, 2021, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia. Burial will be in Houstonia Cemetery.  Face masks are required at all services, and social distancing will be observed. Born November 25, 1956, in Marshall, MO, he was the son of the late Arthur L. Dankenbring and Mary Ellen “Doogie” Borgstadt Dankenbring. He was a 1975 graduate of Santa Fe High School and attended CMSU in Warrensburg. On June 20, 1987, he married Debbie Mackesty who survives of the home. He retired in 2014 from the U.S. Postal Service and was currently coaching volleyball and softball at Northwest High School.  He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Alma and attended First United Methodist Church in Sedalia. He was a member of the Houstonia Coffee Club and active in many organizations in earlier years. He was active in sports and had been coaching since he was 18 years old. He was an outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing. He was outgoing and never met a stranger. He cherished his grandkids and was very active in their lives, attending every sporting event or activity. He loved supporting his community and attending any game he could find even if he didn’t know anyone playing.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie; three daughters, Kelcey Ramey (Nick) of Sedalia, Charity Schleicher (Tony) of Sweet Springs and Casey Smith (Arron) of Houstonia; seven grandchildren, Beckett, Easton and Crew Ramey, Hunter and Mackenzie Sims and Aubrey and Karli-ann Smith; five step-grandchildren; two sisters, Becky DeWitt (Dwight) of St. Charles, MO and Joy Wesley (Mark) of Concordia; and several nieces and nephews.
