A 5-year-old remains in critical condition Sunday morning following a multi-vehicle crash involving Kansas City Chiefs assistant coach Britt Reid, according to police.

The child suffered life-threatening injuries Thursday night after the pickup truck Reid, the son of head coach Andy Reid, was driving slammed into two vehicles parked at the side of Interstate 435 near the Chiefs’ practice facility. Reid admitted to police officers that he had “two or three drinks” and was on prescription Adderall.

A 4-year-old was also injured in the collision and suffered non life-threatening injuries.

Both children were transported to a local hospital, with the 5-year-old sustaining life-threatening injuries, police said. The drivers of the Impala and Traverse were not injured, police said. Reid, reportedly, also suffered injuries that were not life threatening.

According to reports, 5-year-old Ariel continues to fight for her life in an area hospital. Ariel’s aunt has set up a GoFundMe page to help with raise money for medical expenses and weeks of missed work that will come. Ariel’s mother is a single mom of three, and due to COVID restrictions is having to deal with this on her own, according to the page. Ariel reportedly suffered swelling and bleeding in and around the brain. Ariel will be in the hospital for the foreseeable future.

As of Sunday morning, more than 3,800 people had donated to campaign, raising over $146,000.
