A 44-year-old Franklin man continues to be held without bond after being charged with multiple felonies, including murder and kidnapping charges in Howard County.

Just before 5 p.m. on September 7, 2020 Howard County 911 received a call from a residence in the 400 block of Crew Street in Franklin for a female stabbing victim. When Deputies and medical personnel arrived, they found 22-year-old Courtney Clardy, deceased, from apparent stab wounds.

Emmett Wood Jr. is charged with Class A Felonies for Murder in the Second Degree; two counts of Assault 1st Degree Or Attempt – Serious Physical Injury Or Special Victim; a Class D Felony for Kidnapping in the Second Degree and an Unclassified Felony for Armed Criminal Action.

Wood’s case has been bound over for trial during a Preliminary Hearing on Friday, February 5. Woods is scheduled to be arraigned in the trial division of the circuit court at 9 a.m. on Monday, February 22 at Howard County Circuit Court.
