Crews were on the scene within three minutes and upon arrival crews found fire coming from the front and upper floor windows of the two-story home that was divided into three apartments.
Crews made entry for search upon arrival and located a female subject in a bedroom in a first floor apartment and removed her to the front of the structure. The victim was transported to a hospital in Kansas City with burns. The name of the victim has not been released.
Three persons were displaced due to the fire and are being assisted by the Red Cross. Crews were still on the scene at 4:26 p.m. and are expected to remain there for some time.
The Missouri State Fire Marshall’s office has been called in to investigate the cause of the fire.
At the time of this report the investigator had been on scene for approximately two and a half hours.
