A 31-year-old area woman charged with a felony in connection to the death of a Slater woman remains in custody.

Deseray Heyer was arrested on February 3 after authorities were called to a Slater residence where the body of a woman that had been reported as missing since January 30 was found deceased.

According to court documents, Heyer is charged with a Class E Felony for Abandonment of a Corpse. Bond is set at $50,000. She also is charged in a separate case with and a Class E Felony for Assault. Bond for this charge is set at $10,000 cash only.

Heyer was arraigned on both charges on February 5. Her Release Hearing has been continued to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 17 at Saline County Circuit Court.
