A Sedalia man charged with multiple felonies for allegedly assaulting a woman in May has had his case bound over for trial.

According to a police report, on May 31, a woman claimed that Brandon Cooper struck her in the face, pulled her hair and smashed the windshield of her vehicle. The woman also accused Cooper of pulling a knife on her and attempting to stab her.

Once Cooper was located by authorities, he was taken into custody and denied the allegations. Cooper is charged with Class E Felonies for Domestic Assault in the Third Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon-Exhibiting.

The Court revoked Cooper’s initial $10,000 bond after the Court was made aware that Cooper had committed a new offense while awaiting trial for this case. A warrant was issued and bond was set at $25,000 cash or surety. During a court proceeding on February 2, the Court amended the bond to $12,500 cash or surety.

Cooper’s case has been bound over to the Trial Division of the Circuit Court. Cooper is scheduled to be arraigned at 9 a.m. Tuesday, February 16 at Pettis County Circuit Court.
