The cold weather has caused unprecedented issues to the electric supply in Missouri and surrounding states.

MMU General Manager Jeff Bergstrom has a few suggestions on how customers can conserve energy over the next several days to help relieve some of the stress on the energy supply.

Bergstrom said we’re pretty fortunate in this area.

Bergstrom said, while other areas have seen rolling blackouts, MMU does not intend, or see the need to have rolling blackouts at this time. He says MMU is utilizing its local generation resources to cover most of Marshall’s load to help offset regional shortages.

And again, fuel needs are pushing energy markets to historic highs! Impact this supply/demand nightmare by bundling up, keep thermostats at 65-67 degrees and limit major appliance usage. Help save money and conserve!
