The Marshall City Council held a public hearing regarding an updated proposed fence ordinance during its meeting on Tuesday, February 16.

There were no comments during the public hearing, so when the ordinance came up to be discussed later in the meeting, Ward 2 Councilman Kirk Arends asked a question that was answered by Marshall City Inspector and Code Official Mike Morgan.

Ward 3 Councilman Charlie Guthrey asked another question that was answered by Morgan.

In the end, the council voted to approve the first reading of the reworked ordinance. It will have to be approved a second time during a future meeting before going into effect. The next meeting of the council is scheduled to be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 1.
