A 38-year-old Sedalia woman is facing felony charges for allegedly not paying a bill for short-term rental property and forging a document.

According to a probable-cause statement, Amanda Rachelle Mejia is accused of not paying rental arrears that total more than $2,400.

The suspect also allegedly doctored an invoice she received from the landlord.

Court documents say Amanda Rachelle Mejia is charged with Class D Felonies for Forgery and Stealing of $750 or more. Mejia posted $7,500 surety bond on December 29.

A warrant has been issued for Mejia’s arrest after she failed to appear at her latest court proceeding on February 9 at Pettis County Circuit Court. Bond has been set at $25,000 cash or surety.

A Bond Forfeiture Review is set for 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, March 9 at Pettis County Circuit Court.
