Randall Fiene, CPA, presented the results of the city’s audit for Fiscal Year 2020 that ended on September 30 during the meeting of the Concordia Board of Aldermen on Tuesday, February 16.

According to unofficial minutes from the meeting, Fiene reported the results of his test disclosed no instances of noncompliance or other matters that were required to be reported under governmental auditing standards. The best thing he said was refinancing the bonds and getting rid of two bonds and the city will only be responsible for one bond.

In other news, aldermen approved an ordinance authorizing an agreement with D&F Services of Overland Park, Kansas, for PLC upgrade- installation and supportive services for the filter system at the Concordia water-treatment facility.

Aldermen also approved an ordinance authorizing another agreement with D&F Services for the purchase, installation and supporting service of monitoring for the SCADA system at the laboratory of the water-treatment facility.

Also aldermen approved an ordinance to authorize the execution of the mutual-aid agreement concerning animal rescue services with Warrensburg Animal Rescue for sheltering of animals pursuant to the requirements of the Concordia Police Department in enforcement of Concordia’s City Code.

Aldermen also gave the green light to an ordinance authorizing the purchase of two in-car camera systems and eight body-camera systems for the Concordia Police Department; a recommendation to solicit bids from vendors for televising and cleaning sewer lines; and it was reported that the Concordia Heritage Society was awarded a $5,000 grant.
