An area law-enforcement agency is alerting residents about scams.

The Brookfield Police Department is informing the public of the increasing amount of scam and scammer calls. The department says be wary of any individual or group attempting to collect money or donations for local first responders or requesting personal information which could lead to identity theft.

The department says it will never request money from the public for donations.
