Missouri Governor Mike Parson will be at Hy-Vee on Monday, Feb. 22, 2021, to present a proclamation declaring Monday as Supermarket Employee Day in the state of Missouri.

There are nearly six million people in the U.S. currently working at a supermarket. During the beginning of the pandemic, these employees became not only essential workers but frontline heroes. Supermarkets are the center of their respective communities touching every life around them, and in rural communities a grocery store is the lifeline for many families.
