
A 41-year-old Sedalia man is facing drug related felonies following a traffic stop in Saline County earlier this month.
During a search of the vehicle, on February 6, the law-enforcement officer says he located a pillow case in the bed of the truck that contained an overnight bag with a syringe plunger cap; a digital scale; a glove; and a clear plastic bag that contained methamphetamine. The officer claims that when the driver was searched at the jail, three small bags and a folded dollar bill fell out of the suspect’s pants pocket.
According to court documents, Everett Franklin Smith IV is charged with a Class C Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Class D felonies for Possession of and Delivery or Possession of a Controlled Substance at a County Jail.
Smith was arraigned on Monday, February 8. Smith waived his right to a release hearing on February 17. A Preliminary Hearing Setting in this case is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 17 at Saline County Circuit Court.
