David L. “Grady” Hager, 62, of Slater, died Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital.

Per his request, he will be cremated, and no services will be held. Weiker Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Born August 14, 1958 in Saline County, he was the son of the late William Fred and Helen Genell Hardin Hager.  On December 31, 2018 in Slater, he married Debra Sparks Johnson, and she survives of the home.

Also surviving is a son, Addison Hager of Slater; four step-children, Amber Ibbotson of Weaubleau, Missouri, Robert Foreman of Sequim, Washington, Travis Johnson and Tyler Johnson, both of Winnetka, California; and three step-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Allison Hager; two sisters, and a brother.

Mr. Hager was retired from Missouri Department of Transportation, and later worked as a farmhand for numerous farmers until his retirement.
