During the meeting of the Saline County Commission on Thursday, March 4, Northern District Commissioner Stephanie Gooden said some money will have to be transferred between funds to make up for some payments made.

Gooden says this could mean the five entities -Marshall, Slater, Sweet Springs, Arrow Rock and the other small towns- could wind up getting less of a payment this year.

Gooden continued with the total assets of the water bond.

Gooden says the county’s portion for the MODOT turn-lane agreement is $1,406,067 at a 1.45-percent interest rate for the life of 10 years.

The funding for all of this project at Marshall Junction and providing money to the entities is coming from the half-cent Economic Development Sales Tax county voters approved in April 2018 and went into effect on October 1, 2018.
