The Carrollton Town Council took care of some fire-protection items during its meeting on Monday, March 1.

According to unofficial minutes from the meeting, Fire Chief Lonnie Sensenich said a signed contract with the fire protection district is due every two years. There were no changes made to it. The motion to approve passed without opposition.

Also, the Town Council approved an ordinance authorizing the town of Carrollton to enter into a contract with Carroll County Fire Protection District No.1 for the purpose of providing fire protection for the district and authorizing all acts necessary to carry out the terms of such agreement.

In other news, councilmembers gave the approval to a Missouri Highways & Transportation Commission Airport Aid agreement.

The council also voted to enter into an agreement with H.W. Lockner, Inc., for construction services for the electrical improvements and to enter into another agreement with Strukel Electric, Inc. for electrical improvements at the airport.

It also was noted that a COVID-19 vaccine clinic will be held Saturday, March 6, in conjunction with the health department and the National Guard. The event will be held at the old Place’s building on South Main. There are 1,170 shots allocated, and individuals must be preregistered. The Carrollton Police Department will be assisted by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department and Chillicothe Police Department for traffic control.

The next clinic is scheduled for Sunday, March 28.
