
A 35-year-old Lexington woman is facing a couple of drug-related felony charges after a traffic stop and subsequent search of her vehicle on March 4 in Lafayette County.
According to a probable-cause statement, authorities, with the help of a K-9,say they located some marijuana, a clear baggie containing some methamphetamine and a smoking pipe in her purse. They also located medication bottles that contained 12 clonazepam pills for which the woman did not have a prescription.
Court documents say Melinda Ann Nigh is charged with two counts of a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance and two drug-related misdemeanors. Bond is set at $25,000 cash or surety.
Nigh’s initial hearing is pending at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
