For allegedly tampering with a GPS monitoring device on October 24, 2020, a 34-year-old Cameron woman has been charged with a felony in Lafayette County.
According to a probable-cause statement, authorities were notified of a person wanting to talk to them in regards to a person cutting off an ankle monitor that was ordered by the court.
A bail bondsman said she was notified that Samantha Plymell had cut off the monitor. Plymell reportedly said “I don’t have to be strapped to anything” and started going off on the bail bondsman. The bail bondsman also said she was notified the ankle monitor was left at a truck stop in Lathrop.
Court documents say Plymell is charged with a Class D Felony for Tampering with an Electronic Monitoring Device. Bond is set at $50,000 cash or surety.
Plymell’s arraignment hearing is set for 9 a.m. on Monday, March 15, at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
