A 59-year-old Belton man is facing a drug-related felony charge after authorities say they found controlled substances in a vehicle that belonged to him and was parked at a residence in Pettis County on March 5.
According to a probable-cause statement, authorities executed a narcotics search warrant on Bugger Town Road. In jeans that belonged to Ricky Coutts, they found $1,254 and a small Ziploc bag containing a crystal substance. Coutts said the cash was from collecting coins.
In Coutts’ vehicle, authorities say they also located 10 separate clear bags with a crystal substance, weighing a total of 138 grams.
Court documents say Coutts is charged with a Class B Felony for Trafficking Drugs in the Second Degree. Bond is set at $25,000 cash or surety.
Coutts’ initial hearing is pending at Pettis County Circuit Court.
