According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as a westbound vehicle was traveling too fast for conditions. The driver, 28-year-old Shyla Cranmer, of Marshall, overcorrected the vehicle, which caused it to run off the right side of the roadway, overturn several times and eject both its occupants, who were not wearing seat belts.

Also injured was 33-year-old Jessica Sellers, of Knob Noster. Both were transported to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.

The crash happened at 12:01 a.m. on Route B, west of Sacajawea Road.
