
A Wind Advisory has been issued for several counties in the KMMO listening area for most of daylight hours on Wednesday, March 10.
According to a release from the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office, the National Weather Service says southwest winds are expected to be 25 to 35 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph.
The Wind Advisory is in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down, and a few power outages may result. Residents are advised to use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle. Residents also are advised to secure outdoor objects.
Counties included in the Wind Advisory are Saline, Carroll, Lafayette and Pettis in the immediate KMMO listening area.
Also, officials in the city of Waverly and Pettis County have issued burn bans until further notice.
