The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved a request filed by Evergy Metro, Inc. d/b/a Evergy Missouri Metro (Evergy Metro) to change the fuel adjustment charge (FAC) on the monthly bills of its electric customers.

The PSC says Evergy Metro made two filings. In its first filing (ER-2021-0244), Evergy Metro proposed to adjust the FAC to reflect changes in its fuel and purchased-power costs for the six-month period- July through December 2020. The second filing was Evergy Metro’s FAC true-up (EO-2021-0243).

For a residential customer using 1,000 kWh (kilowatt-hours) of electricity a month, the FAC will decrease by approximately $0.67 a month from a current FAC of approximately $0.53 a month to an approximate bill credit of $0.14 a month.

The change is expected to take effect on April 1, 2021.

Evergy Metro serves approximately 292,700 electric customers in 13 Missouri counties, including Saline, Carroll, Chariton, Howard, Lafayette and Pettis in the KMMO listening area.
